Visit to Moulin de Colagne with Clients: The Importance of Understanding the Flour-Milling Process from the Inside
Bringing the Mill Closer to Professionals
At Farinera Coromina, we have always understood that flour cannot be explained solely through the final result. Behind every bag lies a selection of wheat, technical decisions, milling processes and a specific way of working with grain.
Because understanding flour begins long before entering the bakery.
Understanding the Process from the Inside
For this reason, we regularly organise visits for our clients both to our facilities and to those of our partner, Moulin de Colagne, in Lozère, France. These visits are designed to share knowledge, bring the mill closer to professionals and help them understand, from the inside, everything that lies behind a quality flour.
On this occasion, we visited Moulin de Colagne together with several clients to introduce them to its way of working with grain and to show how every decision made throughout the process influences the final performance of the flour.
During the visit, participants had the opportunity to tour the facilities, learn about different stages of the milling process, observe grain handling procedures and understand how the selection of wheat varieties, quality standards and various technical processes directly influence the final result.
Sharing Knowledge Among Professionals
Our partner, Moulin de Colagne, works with stone milling through the SODER system, a technology that allows greater control of the milling process and a distinctive approach to grain processing, resulting in flours with unique characteristics and performance.
Understanding the origin allows professionals to better interpret flour and make more informed decisions in the bakery.

At Farinera Coromina, we believe that supporting our clients also means sharing knowledge. Not only offering quality flour, but helping professionals understand everything behind it: from the origin of the wheat to the milling process and its final application in baking.
Because when you know the origin, you understand the flour better.
Beyond the technical aspects, these visits also have significant human value. They provide an opportunity to share experiences, discuss challenges and exchange ways of working among professionals who approach their craft with the same passion and commitment.
At Farinera Coromina, we believe that supporting our clients also means sharing knowledge. Not only offering flour, but helping professionals understand it, interpret it and get the very best out of it in their day-to-day work..
Because when you gain a closer understanding of our processes, as well as those of Moulin de Colagne, you gain a better understanding of the value behind every flour. This is where everything comes together: expertise, knowledge, quality and a shared way of understanding grain.
We would like to thank all participants for their involvement and commitment throughout the visit. It was a highly enriching experience for everyone, where we continued sharing expertise, knowledge and a common vision of artisan baking.
